The Paradox of Constitutions Changers

This has become an epidemics with acute consequences, mainly in Africa of long standing dictators wanting to change their countries Constitutions, under the pretense that it does not suit new needs.  This comes when during their Inauguration, they solemnly swore to abide by the same Constitution.  Now that they are very bent on changing these Constitutions, which guarantees can they provide the people they – so badly govern in many countries –  that the new Constitutions they want to see adopted will be respected? None, I guess.  That’s the Paradox. They will change Constitutions because they do not suit their needs anymore, for now. But there is nothing to definitely enshrine the new ones they want to see adopted.

In French, they say “qui a bu, boira”.  One who drank will drink again.
